Golden Eagles up two spots heading into final day at Sea Trail

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. – Tennessee Tech trimmed six shots off its team score and climbed to spots in the team standings Saturday on the second day of the 54-hole Sea Trail Invitational hosted by Elon College.

Senior Wes Korth followed his firsr round 72 with a round of 71 on Saturday, jumping to 21st place individually while leading the Golden Eagles.

The biggest improvements in the second round came from Travis Ramsey and Jake Heatherly. Ramsey cut seven shots from his first round 79 to post a 72 on Saturday, while Heatherly followed his 83 Friday with a 74 on Saturday.

Also in the lineup for Tech, Josh Simer carded a 75 and Jared Dunn shot 76 on the second day.

As a team, the Golden Eagles shot 292 Saturday after a 298 Friday, and lifted their standing from a tie for 15th to 14 place.

Wofford moved into a tie with Stetson for first place, shooting rounds of 279 and 278 to go to 19-under par heading into the final round Sunday. Stetson followed its first round 274 with a 283.

Murray State, the only other Ohio Valley Conference school in the 16-team field. Improved from a 296 opening round to a 285 Friday, and the Racers are tied for sixth.
