COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team and head coach Jeannette Waldo another addition to this year's Golden Eagle signing class with Emma Pabon joining the squad for the 2021 season.

Pabon comes to the Golden Eagles after playing the past two seasons as a middle blocker under head coach Roni Hipp at Riverdale High School while dual-enrolled at Lee Virtual School in Fort Myers, Fla. and Florida Gulf Coast University. As a senior, she registered 89 kills, 31 service aces, 17 total blocks, and 25 digs while hitting at a 32.0 percent clip. While taking classes through FGCU, she was a member of the Honors College and was named to the 2020 FGCU President's List.

As a sophomore, Pabon competed for head coach J.D. Malone at Southwest Florida Christian Academy, compiling 12 kills, 21 total blocks, and 61 assists. She was a member of the SFCA junior varsity squad as a freshman, her first year of competitive volleyball. Throughout her high school career, she totaled more than 100 kills, 40 total blocks, 30 service aces, and 30 digs.

"Due to her unconventional recruiting process, Emma is a hidden talent that we were fortunate enough to discover," Waldo expressed. "We are a middle-oriented offense, so we are very particular about who we bring in within that position, and Emma will be a perfect addition. She plays high and quick and she can attack in front or behind with ease. Her versatility will allow us to increase our options to score and our net will become more competitive with her on it. Her ceiling is so high, and we can't wait to see her continue to develop as a Golden Eagle."
