BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech middle blocker Taylor Dorsey collected her first career weekly Ohio Valley Conference honor and the team's first of the 2020-21 season Wednesday morning, earning a share of the league's Defensive Player of the Week accolade following an incredible pair of performances on the court.

Dorsey put the Golden Eagles on her back in helping the purple and gold to a two-match sweep at Murray State, compiling a team-high 29 kills and a whopping 16 blocks. Averaging 3.22 kills and 1.78 blocks per set, the junior middle blocker also registered an eye-popping .387 hitting percentage for the weekend through nine sets.

In Tech's four-set winner over the Racers, she unloaded 15 kills on a .364 hitting percentage, totaling a team-high 19.0 points thanks to 6.0 total blocks. Dorsey followed it up with another incredible showing, hitting .414 with 14 kills and just two errors in the five-set thriller on Monday.

She was a brick wall in the match as well, producing 10 rejections for her second double-double of the year and third of her career. Dorsey again tallied 19.0 points to pace the purple and gold, guiding her team to its first back-to-back wins at Murray since 1997 and 1998.

The Golden Eagle shared the league's weekly honor with Murray State libero Becca Fernandez, who averaged 6.33 digs per set on the week.

With just two matches to play on the year, Dorsey leads the Golden Eagles with 59 total blocks and a .311 hitting percentage while ranking third on the team with 122 kills and 156.5 points. Tech will close out the year with a pair of tilts against Belmont on Sunday, Mar. 28 (7:00 p.m. CT) and Monday, Mar. 29 (6:00 p.m.).
