COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team had its chances behind 16 shot attempts, but were unable to dent the scoreboard with a 2-0 loss to Lipscomb in the club's final non-conference match of the season.

The in-state battle saw the Golden Eagles (2-4-2) outshoot an opponent for the third straight contest, matching their second-highest output of the year with the 16 attempts. The Lady Bisons (5-3-0) scored in each half and ended the tilt with 10 shots.

Lipscomb senior Olivia Doak registered a three-point evening, scoring the affair's first goal with a 19th minute strike and then added an assist on a Maycie McKay score in the 85th minute. Doak's net-finder came off a free kick from Leach Cernicky that was batted around through heavy traffic in front of Tech keeper Isabelle Austin, before Doak took control and split the pipes.

McKay's goal came off a Doak cross that saw the 5-foot-6 forward sneak one inside the far post.

Bailey Taylor and Kendall Powell led the match with four shots each. Rachel Blow was Tech's leader with two shots on-goal, while Cassidy Bereda also attempted a pair of tries.

The Golden Eagles produced four shots on-goal, all halted by Lipscomb keeper Melissa Gray. Isabelle Austin ended the evening with one save, as the Lady Bisons attempted just three shots on-goal.

Austin was one of six Golden Eagles to play the entire match. Rachel Blow, Macy Carter, Tina Marolt, Kaitie Shipley and Kendall Webb also went all 90. Carter going the distance came in the freshman's first collegiate start.

With non-conference play in the rearview mirror, Tech prepares for its 10-match OVC slate with a pair of home contests next weekend. The Golden Eagles host Morehead State Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m., before the purple and gold seal the deal on a program-long, five-match homestand with a Sunday, Sept. 22 meeting against Eastern Kentucky at 1 p.m.

Admission to Tech Soccer Field is free of charge.
