COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With only seven days separating the Tennessee Tech soccer team from the start of the 2017 regular season, the Golden Eagles completed their preseason exhibition run against Chattanooga Friday evening, fighting to a 1-1 tie.

The Golden Eagles played two 45-minute halves just a few days after playing three 30-minute periods in a 2-1 exhibition loss at the hands of Kennesaw State.

All 20 of Tech's healthy players saw action in the contest, accounting for 11 shots and eight total shots on goal. Chattanooga also used 20 players on the night, totaling eight shots, including four on goal.

Tech took an early lead, jumping up 1-0 in the 11th minute of the contest while keeping a potent attack for much of the first half.

Chattanooga answered in the second half, scoring on a turnover in the 54th minute. Both sides traded shots for the rest of the half, with neither defense letting down.

The Golden Eagles will officially kick off the 2017 season one week late on Friday, Aug. 18 at Vanderbilt. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start in Nashville.
