Tech women's golf team ranks 10th after first day of Jan Weaver Invitational

MURRAY, Ky. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed the first two rounds of action at the Jan Weaver Invitational Friday evening, ranking 10th among the 14 teams in competition at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky.

The Golden Eagles posted rounds of 313 and 317 for a total of 630. Central Arkansas led the way on day one of play, posting a 584 overall. UCA's Emma Svensson finished the day at the top of the leaderboard, carding a 73-70=143.

Leading the Tech squad through two rounds was junior Lindsay Miller. She tied for 34th among the 90—player field with rounds of 80 and 74 for a 154 overall. Freshman Kate Mashburn was next among the Tech finishers, posting a 156 to tie for 46th after rounds of 75 and 81.

Junior Hollee Sadler tied for 54th after carding an 80-78=158 while sophomore Shelby Johnson tied for 60th overall with scores of 78 and 84 for a 162. Rookie Isabel York rounded out the starting lineup for the Golden Eagles, finishing in a tie for 70th overall. She wrapped up the day with an 81-84=165.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Arianna Clemmer posted an 83 in her first round of action before withdrawing from the event.

The third and final round of the tournament is set for kick off at 11 a.m. CT. The start was bumped back due to impending snow in the area overnight.
