Tech women's golf team ends second round of OVC Championships in sixth

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed its second round of action at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships Tuesday afternoon, wrapping up the day at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in sixth place.

The Golden Eagles posted a 319 over the second grouping of 18 holes, combining with a first-round 313 for a total two-day score of 632. Tech finished the day in sixth play among the nine competing teams.

Murray State held on to its first-place ranking with a dominant 288. The Racers' Moa Folke led all players through two rounds, finishing with a 142 overall and 68 on Tuesday.

The Tech lineup was led by freshman Kate Mashburn through the first two rounds. The rookie ranked in a tie for 16th place among the 45 participants with a score of 74-84=158.

Senior Allyson Dunn sat just a stroke back of her teammate, finishing day two in a tie for 19th place. Her 159 came from rounds of 74 and 85. Junior Lindsay Miller concluded her second round in a tie for 24th, carding an 81-79=160.

Sophomore Shelby Johnson led the Golden Eagles with a 77 in round two, combining with her first-round 85 for a 162 overall. She tied for 29th. Rounding out the Tech lineup was junior Hollee Sadler, who posted a 79 for a 163 overall and tie for 32nd.

The OVC Championships will wrap up with 18 holes of third-round action on Wednesday, beginning with 8 a.m. CT tee times. The Golden Eagles will kick off their action starting at 8:50 a.m.
