COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- For the third time in her young college career, Tennessee Tech freshman sprinter Na'Asha Robinson has been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference as the league's Female Athlete of the Week.
A speed rookie from Huntsville, Ala., Robinson ran in four races at the Kentucky Relays (May 7), setting school records in two, while claiming one first-place, one second and two third-place finishes.
Individually, she placed third in the 100m and 200m, breaking her own school standard in the 200m with a time of 23.78 seconds. It is the fastest time in the OVC this season. She also ran a personal-best 12.06 in the 100m dash, which is the seventh fastest in the OVC in 2016.
Robinson also ran on the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. In the 4x100m event, she ran the anchor leg as Tech set a school record and marked the third-best time in the OVC at 46.54 seconds. She ran the leadoff leg in the 4x400m relay, helping post a time of 3:42.33.
Her efforts led to the highest finishes by OVC athletes in all four events at the Kentucky meet.
Robinson won the same honor two weeks earlier, and also was named Athlete of the Week on Jan. 20 during the indoor season.
Robinson and her teammates will be in Nashville Friday and Saturday for the OVC Outdoor Championships.
