Golden Eagles set three PR times on first day of Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --  The first four events of Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge produced three personal best times Friday night by members of the Tennessee Tech track & field team.

The Golden Eagles weren't able to eclipse any school records, but did see a pair of PR times in the 200-meter dash and one at 5,000 meters.

Freshman Morgan O'Neal sprinted to a time of 26.46 in the 200m event for her new personal best time, matching freshman Crystal Leibenberg for the team's fastest time of the night. It was Leibenberg's first race at that distance as a Golden Eagle.

Tina Driscoll also covered the 200m distance in the quickest time of her career, clocking in at 28.75. Two other Golden Eagles racing in the 200m dash included Tiara Hymon (26.49) and Brittany McGee (27.27).

In the night's longest contest, Sonel Bezuidenhout posted a PR at 5,000m with a time of 19:04.63. Lera McNamara finished in 20.32.72.
