    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It was a pitchers’ duel from start to finish, but it all came down to one run in the top of the seventh as UT Martin took the 1-0 victory on Sunday to take the series from Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles (17-18, 8-10 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action on Wednesday as they host East Tennessee State for a midweek contest with a 5 p.m. start. Conference action resumes next Saturday at Eastern Illinois.

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech and UT Martin traded a pair of one-run losses on Saturday as the two teams split the scheduled doubleheader with identical 3-2 results. The Golden Eagles (17-17, 8-9 Ohio Valley Conference) will play the Skyhawks again on Sunday starting at noon to decide the winner of the series. UT Martin took game one as Anna Blanton went 3-for-3 and Kaci Fuller 2-for-4, each with an RBI, while Maddie Long picked up the other RBI in the game.

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – When Tennessee Tech Softball welcomes UT Martin on April 13-14, it will be a cause of celebration as the Golden Eagle Softball team will recognize the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Ohio Valley Conference championship team between games as part of the Wings Up Weekend festivities on Saturday, April 13. The 1994 Golden Eagle squad earned the inaugural OVC championship, going an unblemished 17-0 in the conference – a feat that has only been matched by the 2016 Jacksonville State team.

    CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Last season, Southeast Missouri cruised to a 20-2 finish in the Ohio Valley Conference softball race. While the start of the 2024 conference campaign has seen the Redhawks a little more level in the race thus far, SEMO is still a very dangerous opponent – after all, historically, Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri have been among the top programs since the league first sponsored softball. The Redhawks (13-20) and the Golden Eagles (15-14) will square off Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m., while the third game will be Sunday at noon.     COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With as outstanding of a season that Tennessee Tech third baseman Carmen Betts has had, it’s only fitting that she was honored Monday by the Ohio Valley Conference as she shared the league’s Player of the Week award. As the final votes were tabulated, Betts was tied with Morehead State’s Sela Pickford for the honor. The OVC Player and Pitcher of the Week awards are nominated and voted on by the conference’s sports information contacts.

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After Lindenwood scored eight runs in the second inning, Tennessee Tech battled back, forcing extra innings as Emily York pitched a gem to keep the Golden Eagles alive. But the visiting Lions took the lead in the top of the eighth inning and Tech couldn’t get the hit it needed to keep the game going, falling 9-8 in eight innings. The Golden Eagles fall to 15-14 overall, 6-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while Lindenwood improves to 17-16, 6-6 in league play.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 14-11 overall on the season, 6-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Tech has gone 2-1 in each of its first three league series and maintains a solid positioning among the top half of the conference.
