COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly a month-and-a-half into the 2017 softball slate and the Tennessee Tech softball team will get to come home and play amongst the friendly confines of the Tech Softball Field for the first time this season.

Tech's first two home series this weekend are also its first Ohio Valley Conference matchups as the Golden Eagles entertain Southeast Missouri on Saturday and UT Martin on Sunday.

The Redhawks enter the weekend with a 15-10 record with the team hitting .312 on the season. SEMO has seven players with double-digit tallies in RBI, led by the trio of Rachel Anderson, Parker Bandy and Sarah Messex with 15 runs driven in each. The Redhawks have lost their last three outings, dropping a pair of 6-5 losses to Kansas and Omaha, as well as a 7-3 defeat at the hands of LSU.

The Skyhawks, however, are riding a three-game winning streak after taking two from Western Illinois and a game against Samford. UT Martin, however, will take on Jacksonville State on Saturday before venturing to Cookeville for the Sunday twinbill.

As a team, the Skyhawks are hitting .329, led by Renate Mecki with a .398 clip. Rachel Williams, who is batting .325, has driven in a team-high 26 RBI, while Mecki and Gracyn McBride each have a team-high four home runs.
