JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – With regular-season tournaments in the books, the Tennessee Tech softball team has one more non-conference matchup this weekend before getting set to make its run in the Ohio Valley Conference.
This weekend, it's a trip to East Tennessee State for a Saturday pair against the Lady Bucs. The times are set as a 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. start in Central time.

The Golden Eagles are no strangers to the Lady Bucs, taking two victories against them last week during the Owl Challenge at Kennesaw State. Tech earned an eight-inning 8-6 victory last Friday, then pulled together a 4-1 win on Saturday.

In the first game, Alyssa Richards drove in four runs on a 2-for-4 outing, while Hallie Davis drove in three on a 3-for-4 day. Davis had two home runs, while Richards also went yard as Tech scored three runs in the sixth and in the eighth. Leigh Ellen Thomas picked up the win in relief, then earned the complete game victory in the second meeting the next day.

In the second contest, Aalia Bivens added to the home run tally, while Kelly Kennedy and Sarah Freels also drove in runs.

The Lady Bucs (8-14) still have a potent offense, led by Tiffany Laughren (.426, 14 RBI), Danielle Knoetze (.373, 15 RBI) and Taylor Carter (.354, 21 RBI). As a team, ETSU is hitting .277, has driven in 95 runs and scored 105, and has 16 home runs.

In the circle, Sharlene Godoy (2-1, 3.11 ERA), Madison Ogle (3-6, 3.82 ERA) and Lindsey Fadnek (1-2, 5.25 ERA) have seen the majority of the action.

For Tech (7-15), Davis (.265, 14 RBI), Gabby LaSala (.260, 10 RBI) and Richards (.238, 10 RBI) has been leading the way offensively, while the team is hitting .218, has driven in 69 RBI and scored 77 runs with 28 home runs.

In the circle, Danielle Liberatore (2-6, 4.39 ERA), Thomas (3-7, 4.54 ERA) and Taylor Waldrop (1-2, 4.75 ERA) will be among the probable starters for this weekend.
