COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—After another superb showing for the Tennessee Tech men's cross country team at the Commodore Classic, Gilbert Boit has been named the adidas® OVC Male Runner of the Week on Sept. 20.

Boit completed his 8K course in 24:26.8 to place fourth overall in a field that featured over 228 runners to lead the Golden Eagles to a ninth place finish in a field of 23 schools (including 11 regionally-ranked squads), and topped the other five OVC schools at the meet. Tech's ninth place finish was also the best finish at the Commodore Classic a Tech team has ever had.

Boit's time is the second fastest in school history, just off the record pace of 24:09.34 he recorded two weeks ago in Mobile, Ala. His time Saturday reflected his average of 4.55.1 per mile.
