COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will head to South Carolina for its first action of the spring campaign, returning to the Bash at the Beach, hosted by Appalachian State, for the first time since 2018.

BASH AT THE BEACH: Mar. 9-10, 2020 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,817-yard Surf Golf and Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Teams will kick off the action with a shotgun start beginning at 8:00 a.m. CT on Monday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Will Brooks, junior Bracton Womack, freshman Nick Sutton, sophomore Chance Taylor and sophomore Bryce Beeler.

THE COMPETITION: The 15-team field consists of host Appalachian State, as well as, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Florida A&M, George Washington, Jacksonville State, Long Island, Loyola-Chicago, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania (B), Queens University of Charlotte, Tennessee Tech, UMES, UNCW and UT Arlington. Competing with individuals only are Liberty, Louisville, NC State, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "We are ready to get the season started at Myrtle Beach. We have played in this tournament a couple of times now and feel the course suits us well for our first event of the spring. The guys have been working hard since the beginning of the semester and look forward to the opportunity to compete."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: It's been two years since Tech's last appearance at the Bash at the Beach, a solid showing by the Golden Eagles. In the 2018 edition, the purple and gold finished fourth out of nine teams, with juniors Will Brooks and Bracton Womack each getting valuable experience at The Surf Golf and Beach Club.
