FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The resume Seth Carlisle has put together in his time at Tennessee Tech is already impressive as the senior has many honors over the years.

Carlisle added another one on Tuesday night as he was named a Charles W. Hawkins III University Scholar-Athlete by the Middle Tennessee chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame.

Posting a 3.61 grade point average in Biology Health Sciences with a focus in pre-dentistry, Carlisle most recently was named to the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team and was a finalist as the Ohio Valley Conference's nominee for the Doris Robinson Award, named after the late school teacher and wife of legendary Grambling State head coach Eddie Robinson.

A regular fixture of the Tech Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List, Carlisle has received the Headrick Pre-Health Sciences Scholarship, the Jerry D. Cantrell Endowment Scholarship and the Golden Opportunity Scholarship. Carlisle was also named one of six OVC Scholar-Athlete Award winners this past semester.

He also serves as a member of the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee Student-Athlete Connection Group, the Tech and OVC Student-Athlete Advisory Committees, the Chem-Med Club and the Tennessee Tech Football Leadership Group.

The 2020-21 Robert Hill Johnson Award winner, Carlisle finished second on the team this season with 67 stops – 29 unassisted and 38 assisted. He also had one interception for 11 yards and two quarterback hurries.
