COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference announced its 2022-23 Team Academic Achievement Awards Tuesday morning and Tennessee Tech came away with two team honors thanks to the Golden Eagle women's golf and men's tennis programs.
The Tech women's golf collected the honor for the first time in program history while the tennis team earned the recognition for the second time in history and the past three years. The OVC began presenting the Team Academic Achievement Awards in 2004-05.
The OVC Team Academic Achievement Awards, which are presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher, were awarded in 17 sports.
The Golden Eagle tennis team shared the honor with Tennessee State.
Nine different member institutions claimed honors this season.

Men's Basketball – Morehead State, Southern Indiana
Women's Basketball – Eastern Illinois
Beach Volleyball – Morehead State
Men's Cross Country – Little Rock
Women's Cross Country – Southern Indiana
Football – Lindenwood
Men's Golf – SIUE
Women's Golf – Tennessee Tech
Rifle – Morehead State
Women's Soccer – Southeast Missouri
Softball – Eastern Illinois
Men's Tennis – Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech
Women's Tennis – Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri
Men's Track and Field – Southeast Missouri
Women's Track and Field – Southern Indiana
Women's Volleyball – Morehead State
The awards cap the announcements regarding 2022-23 academic year awards. It was previously announced that 1,396 OVC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll (for having a 3.25 GPA or better) while 292 student-athletes achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's to earn the OVC Academic Medal of Honor.
