Golden Eagles land 116 student-athletes on OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – With the 2023-24 academic year just about to begin, the Ohio Valley Conference recognized its annual OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2022-23 on Monday.

In all, 1,396 student-athletes were honored on the list, each fulfilling the requirement of at least a 3.25 grade point average, maintaining eligibility throughout their competitive season and using a season of eligibility.

Among the list were 116 student-athletes from Tennessee Tech. The list included:

The asterisk denotes student-athletes who were honored as part of multiple teams and were only counted once toward the final total.

Across the conference, baseball had the most honorees with 187, followed by women's track and field (186) and women's soccer (153). Women's track and field led the Tech contingent with 17 honorees, while baseball and women's soccer each had 16.

In the last 10 years, the OVC has honored over 13,900 student-athletes as members of the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

This past Friday, the OVC announced 292 student-athletes – 24 from Tennessee Tech – had earned the OVC Academic Medal of Honor with a perfect 4.0 grade point average this past year. The conference will announce the winner of the Academic Achievement Award and Team Academic Achievement Awards on Tuesday.
