COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Two Tennessee Tech tennis players rank among the Top 10 in the Ohio Valley Conference, and the Golden Eagles are picked to finish fourth in the league, according to a preseason poll of conference coaches.
Alex Arovin is ranked as the second-best player in the league, following Mauricio Antun of Belmont. Golden Eagle Alberto Esteban is ranked sixth. Both were first-team all-OVC performers a year ago.
In the preseason pick of the standings, Belmont and Jacksonville each received 59 points to place in a tie for first, while Austin Peay (52) was third and Tech (43) is fourth. Both Belmont and Jacksonville are scheduled to visit Cookeville to play the Golden Eagles on the Tech courts. JSU is in town March 19 while Belmont comes calling on March 27.
The 2015 OVC Tennis Championships will be held April 17-19 in Nashville, Tenn., at the Centennial Sports Complex Tennis Center.
