COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team has added on to its fall 2021 squad, as head coach Steve Springthorpe announced the signing of Taylor Rhodes, the newest member of the club to throw on the purple and gold.
Rhodes, a 5-foot-6 forward out of Piperton, Tenn., will join the Golden Eagles as an incoming freshman in the fall of 2021.
"Taylor is a great athlete that will fit in well with our attacking group of players," TTU head coach Steve Springthorpe said. "Her aggressive nature getting forward and ability to find opportunities on-goal can certainly help us in creating more scoring chances. We are looking forward to having Taylor join our team in the fall."
Rhodes, who began her varsity career as an eighth-grader at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, enjoyed a prolific tenure as a top goal-scorer throughout her prep days. A two-time All-State performer, Rhodes was also named a "top 20 player to watch in the Memphis area," in addition to taking home a pair of All-Region and All-District accolades throughout her high-school career.
Her team's top goal-scorer in every year since her freshman campaign, Rhodes collected seven hat tricks during her junior season. The Piperton, Tenn. product showed her ability to find the back of the net on the club level as well, serving as her squad's top goal-scorer during Rhodes' days with Bluff City FC and Lobos Rush Premier.
