COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- As the 2023-24 Tennessee Tech women's basketball team embarks on its quest for back-to-back championship seasons, there is still one piece of unfinished business from last year's OVC championship and NCAA tournament run.

The Golden Eagles will host Chattanooga in their home opener on Wednesday, November 15. Dubbed the "Celebration of Champions", Tech women's basketball will open the evening with the unveiling of the OVC championship banner as well as other special recognitions.

Tech head coach Kim Rosamond challenged fans to get 2,800 in the stands for the first home game of the season – 2,800 fans for the 28 championships the women's basketball program has won.

"Our mission since our staff arrived has been to add to our elite women's basketball tradition and hang more championship banners. We invite and encourage all of Golden Eagle nation to be with us as we add another piece of history in the Hoop. It will be a special night, and a motivating way to kick off a new season. Chattanooga is a quality opponent, and we need our fans in the stands to help us create a daunting home court advantage, not only on November 15, but for the entire season."

Following the game against the visiting Mocs, fans will be able to get autographs from their Golden Eagle favorites.

It's a jam-packed night of events, but there's also several giveaways through the evening:

· Nov. 15 is also First Horizon Poster Night as 2023-24 schedule posters will be available to fans;

· Rally towels celebrating the 2022-23 OVC championship banner will be handed out that evening;

· OVC championship T-shirts will be thrown out to the crowd while supplies last.

With that, the Nov. 15 game falls in the middle of a canned food drive for the Tech basketball games on Nov. 14, 15 and 16. Fans who bring in three non-perishable food items will be able to receive $5 admission to the games. The drive is designed to help Upper Cumberland families in need and helped support over 500 last season.

The game is also one of three Communiversity Nights in conjunction with the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Each Chamber member can receive 10 free tickets for the game, as well as the men's game on Nov. 14 and the women's game on Nov. 29.

Tickets for the game are on sale now – call (931) 372-3940, visit the Hooper Eblen Center ticket office or order online at TTUsports.com.
