NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Na'Scottisha Drummond excelled against premiere competition on Friday at the Vanderbilt Invitational, as she recorded Tech's highest finish of the day, second place in the high jump.

Drummond was clearly determined to begin her performance, as she passed over the bar at 1.60 and 1.65 meters on her first attempt at each. Then, the bar moved to 1.70 meters, a height the Duncan, S.C. native had never cleared before in an indoor setting.

Until today.

Drummond got over on her first try at 1.70 as well, and joined the event winner, Saida Burns-Moore of Memphis, as the only two entrants to do so. Her effort is tied for 71st in NCAA Division I.

"Na'Scottisha was awesome today," said head coach Wayne Angel. "Coming out and hitting a new PR and beating out athletes from Power 5 schools will be great for her confidence going forward."

Drummond bested a total of eight Southeastern Conference athletes in the competition: three from Auburn, two from Mississippi State, two from Ole Miss and one from Alabama.

She out-jumped delegates from Connecticut, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and Western Kentucky as well.

Eshe Robinson was alongside Drummond in the high jump, and also took a new indoor best in clearing 1.55 meters.

Lisa Wickham placed 21st out of 113 runners in the 200 meters with a time of 25.21 seconds. It was the second attempt of the year for Wickham, who recorded a mark of 25.06 at Kentucky, the second-fastest in the league this year.

D'Airrien Jackson and Khemani Roberts both made their first run of the season in the event.

Roberts was 40th overall at 25.62 seconds, followed by Jackson in 45th at 25.70.

Teauna Anderson reset her PR in the 200 for the second time in as many weeks, circling in 25.94 ticks. That broke her time of 25.96 from last week, which eclipsed her best from last year, 26.15.

Eshe' Robinson made an improvement on her indoor best in the 200 as well, coming around in 28.67 seconds.

Janet Kwambai's first career attempt in the 5,000 meters produced a time of 18:37.12.
