LEXINGTON, Ky. – A handful of Tennessee Tech track and field athletes took part in the high jump on the first day of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational on Friday afternoon, with Khemani Roberts' fifth place finish highlighting the results.

Roberts easily cleared the bar at 1.61 meters and 1.66 meters, before getting over the 1.71-meter mark on her third and final attempt to put herself in the top five.

In the process, Roberts fared better than competitors from Kentucky, Indiana, Cincinnati, Dayton and Mid-American Conference powerhouse Akron.

It was Roberts' fourth-best indoor high jump showing in her career.

Na'Scottisha Drummond tied for ninth place, as one of eight entrants to clear 1.61 meters on their first attempt. She was unable to get over at 1.66m, which would have been an indoor personal best.

Roberts, Drummond and the rest of the Golden Eagles will be in action tomorrow when the bulk of the events get underway. The long jump and the shot put will get things started at 10 a.m. CT.
