JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – As the other Tennessee Tech teams are heading back to campus to prepare for the upcoming season, the Golden Eagle Cheerleading and Dance teams were hard at work, participating in the Universal Cheer Association and Universal Dances Association 2023 College Camp at East Tennessee State.
With the opportunity to learn and improve their skills, the teams prepared for this upcoming academic year. The dance team learned new routines for home sporting events, as well as new skills and tricks to employ under the guidance of their UDA instructor.
The cheer squad learned new stunts, pyramids and basket tosses to perform at events as well as routines to implement their new skills, while competing against schools from all over the country in sideline, fight song and timeout routines. The Tech cheerleaders won the Program Improvement Award and three superior awards through the week-long camp.
The Tech cheer and dance squads will appear around the community in several events leading up to the start of the athletic calendar.
