    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Interested in trying out for the nationally-ranked Tennessee Tech Cheerleading and Dance Teams? Tryouts will be held April 19, 20 and 21 in the Academic Wellness Center on Tech’s campus.
  • Tech Spirit Squads place high at UCA/UDA

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s not surprising to see the Tennessee Tech spirit squads coming back from the Universal Cheer Association and Universal Dance Association Nationals competition bringing back hardware. This season was no exception as the Golden Eagle teams squared off against some of the best teams in the nation and headed back to Cookeville with high marks and a new trophy for the case. The Tech cheerleading team finished fourth in the nation in the Division I College Game Day Division. Facing schools like Butler, Hofstra and Delaware, the Golden Eagles completed multiple pyramids and basket tosses, while demonstrating elite skills. Tech had the second-highest raw score through the initial round and finished fourth in a highly-competitive division.
  • Tech Cheer and Dance to host Nationals Showcase on Sunday

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fans can experience the energy and excitement of Tennessee Tech Cheer and Dance on Sunday as the squads host their Nationals Showcase Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Hooper Eblen Center. The show begins at 2 p.m. and admission is $10. Cash, check or card are accepted.
  • Tech cheer/dance prepares for new season at UCA/UDA college camp

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – As the other Tennessee Tech teams are heading back to campus to prepare for the upcoming season, the Golden Eagle Cheerleading and Dance teams were hard at work, participating in the Universal Cheer Association and Universal Dances Association 2023 College Camp at East Tennessee State. With the opportunity to learn and improve their skills, the teams prepared for this upcoming academic year. The dance team learned new routines for home sporting events, as well as new skills and tricks to employ under the guidance of their UDA instructor. The cheer squad learned new stunts, pyramids and basket tosses to perform at events as well as routines to implement their new skills, while competing against schools from all over the country in sideline, fight song and timeout routines. The Tech cheerleaders won the Program Improvement Award and three superior awards through the week-long camp. The Tech cheer and dance squads will appear around the community in several events leading up to the start of the athletic calendar.
