COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Over a decade after putting together an impactful and award-winning four-year career on the links for the Tennessee Tech men's golf team, former Golden Eagle Ryan Greer added another piece to the puzzle of his lifelong golf career, winning the Tennessee Four-Ball Championship.

Along with current University of Tennessee senior Jack Smith, a former pupil of Greer's time as the head coach at Webb School, Greer took home the annual title Saturday afternoon at the Black Creek Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Seeded just 15th out of 16 teams that advanced into the match play portion of the tournament, the Greer-Smith Duo battled to defeat Andrew Weathers and Mikey Feher, 3 and 2, in a semifinal match-up early in the day on Saturday. The two then teamed back up to down Lake Johnson and Scott Stevens in the finals, claiming the victory 4 and 3 with a sealing birdie on the 15th hole.

Greer was a member of the Golden Eagle men's golf team from 2000-2004, helping the team to three tournament championships throughout his career. A teammate of current Golden Eagle head coach, Polk Brown, Greer littered his name throughout the team record book, particulary in the section listing team honors.

The Knoxville native took home the team's Best Putter honor in both 2001 and 2002 while also earning the Impact Award as a freshman. His sophomore campaign, he claimed a share of both the Most Dedicated and Impact Award with Brown and teammate Eric Anderson. He went on to claim the Most Dedicated honor twice more, in 2003 and 2004, and also took home the team's Most Improved accolade his senior season, in addition to being named team captain.

In his four-year career, Greer earned All-Tournament honors five times, including after a career-best finish of second place overall at each of the Eagle Invitational (2000), the Belmont Invitational (2002), and the JSU Invitational (2003).
