KENNESAW, Ga. – It's tough to tell exactly which team is leading at the Pinetree Intercollegiate golf tournament, since four of the 12 teams in the field were unable to finish their second round Monday due to darkness.

When the sun set, Memphis and host Kennesaw State were listed in the two top spots, with about five holes left to play to start the day Tuesday. Jacksonville State is the highest ranked team to have finished both rounds of play, carding a solid 286 in the second round after a first round 300, leaving the Gamecocks with a 36-hole score of 586 on the par 72, 7,108-yard layout at the Pinetree Country Club.

Tennessee Tech was one of the most consistent teams in the event through two rounds Monday, shooting rounds of 306 and 304 to finish at 610, placing coach Polk Brown's team squarely in the middle of a pack of seven teams battling for fifth through 11th place.

Senior Mitch Thomas paced the Golden Eagles Monday with rounds of 77 and 72 for a 36-hole score of 149, putting him in a tie for 19th place. Freshman Matthew Giles is next, placing 37th with a 153 total on rounds of 77 and 76.

One stroke back is sophomore A.J. Wilkerson at 75-79—154, and one shot behind that is freshman Ben Huskey at 77-78—155. Senior Bryce Kendrick completes the Tech lineup, tied for 56th place at 81-78—159.

Play will resume Tuesday with the players who didn't finish Monday concluding their second rounds. Third round will get underway at 7 a.m. CT. Players will remain in the same pairings as rounds one and two.
