Golden Eagle golf team adds Knoxville's Cameron Yeary

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Tech golf coach Polk Brown has added one of the state of Tennessee's top high school golfers to the future Golden Eagle roster with the signing of Cameron Yeary from Knoxville Halls High School.

"Cameron is a fine, young man who I believe brings a great work ethic and attitude to the team," Brown said. "Furthermore, he has come from a very successful program at Halls. I look for him to do great things and make a big impact on this team in the future. We are blessed to have him."

The son of Mark and Cindy Yeary, Cameron will graduate in the spring from Halls High School where he was a four-year letterwinner under coach Bill Warren on the Red Devil golf team. He also lettered one year on the tennis team, and has been a fixture on the Honor Roll as a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, the National Honor Society and the Math Honors Society. He plans to major in accounting/finance.

On the course, Yeary was named to the All-District 3-AAA squad as a freshman, junior and senior, and earned All-Region 2-AAA honors as a sophomore in 2013. Named All-KIL in both 2013 and 2014, he advanced to the TSSAA Class AAA state tournament in 2013.

He helped his team win three district championships and one runnerup finish, as well as two regional runnerup seasons. The squad also won the 2015 Prep Master's Tournament title.

Yeary will enroll in the fall of 2016.
