BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech hurler Jaxson Pease was recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the league Monday afternoon. He shared the honor with SIUE's Tyler DeLong.

Pease was a game-changer for the Golden Eagles twice during the week, tossing 9.2 innings while securing a save and a win with 10 strikeouts and no walks. He opened the week with a spotless frame in Tech's win at Middle Tennessee, striking out two batters to pick up his third save of the year.

The sophomore followed it up with a career-high 8.2 innings of work in just his second career start, facing Southeast Missouri in the rubber game of the huge OVC series. He allowed just two earned runs in the contest, fanning a career-high eight batters while scattering six hits and holding one of the league's best offenses in check. He held batters to a .176 average and 0.62 WHIP for the week.

Pease's first weekly honor marks the fifth OVC Pitcher of the Week nod presented to a Golden Eagle hurler this season and the fourth in as many weeks. Fellow weekend starters Peyton Calitri and Landon Smiddy have each taking home the accolade twice during the season. It marks the first time in program history Tech has captured five Pitcher of the Week awards, topping the previous program record for a season held by the 2010, 2017, and 2018 squads.

The Golden Eagles will play host to in-state rival Lipscomb in a rematch in Cookeville Tuesday evening. The 6:00 p.m. CT tilt at the Quill will represent Tech's final midweek contests of the year at home.
