Tennessee Tech baseball reveals 2024 schedule

2024 Tennessee Tech Baseball Schedule

By Mike Lehman, TTU Sports Information

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fans of Tennessee Tech baseball will get plenty of opportunities to watch their favorite squad in the comfort of Cookeville this season, as the Golden Eagles boast 35 home games as part of its 2024 schedule.

With 54 total contests slated for 2024, the purple and gold will compete 35 times at the newly renovated Quillen Field at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. Over the offseason, state-of-the-art TruHop Turf was installed at the ballpark, providing the Tech squad with a new competitive advantage.

The Golden Eagles will have plenty of early opportunities to test the new playing surface this season, with 14 of the first 15 games of the year taking place in Cookeville. The 2024 campaign officially kicks off Feb. 16-18 with a weekend series against Bellarmine.

A brief, midweek trip to Huntsville, Ala. on Feb. 20 to compete against Alabama A&M breaks up the large home stand. Tech returns that weekend to host Sacred Heart from Feb. 23-25 before taking on in-state rival Belmont in a Tuesday tilt on Feb. 27.

Continuing the opening salvo at home, the Golden Eagles take on Notre Dame in a three-game set from Mar. 1-3. A rematch with Alabama A&M on Mar. 5 precludes the finale series of the home streak, three meetings with Queens from Mar. 8-10.

With no weekend series on the road in non-conference play slated for Tech, the Golden Eagles will use midweek opportunities to compete away from the Quill. The Cookeville crew will visit USC Upstate on Mar. 12 and 13 and look to make it three straight victories against Tennessee with a Mar. 26 meeting with the Vols in Knoxville.

Three more in-state bouts wrap up the non-conference road action for Tech in 2024, including an Apr. 9 visit to Nashville and Lipscomb and an Apr. 17 tilt at Middle Tennessee. On Apr. 30, the Golden Eagles will continue their yearly tradition of squaring off with Tim Corbin's Vanderbilt squad in Nashville.

Additional non-conference action taking place in Cookeville includes a series with Davidson from Mar. 16-17, including a doubleheader on the 16th, and a Mar. 19 meeting with North Alabama. Part of a home-and-home, midweek series, the Golden Eagles will host in-state foes Middle Tennessee on Apr. 2 and Lipscomb on Apr. 23.

Tech kicks off Ohio Valley Conference play Mar. 22-24, making the trip to Evansville for a three-game slate with Southern Indiana. The Golden Eagles also visit league foes Lindenwood (Apr. 12-14), UT Martin (Apr. 26-28), and SIUE (May 10-12). Home weekends in conference action include visits from new OVC rival Western Illinois (Mar. 28-30), Morehead State (Apr. 5-7), Southeast Missouri (Apr. 19-21), Eastern Illinois (May 3-5), and Little Rock (May 16-18).

This year's 2024 OVC Baseball Championship presented by SERVPRO will take place at Rent One Park in Marion, Ill. from May 22-25. It marks the second straight year the event will be held at Rent One Park and the third overall (2019).

Select home games will be broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required) with the stream schedule still to be determined. Follow the Tech baseball team and Tech athletics on social media and at TTUsports.com for any and all schedule changes.
