2023 (Junior – ETSU): Smiddy appeared in 17 games in his final season at ETSU, making 13 starts… compiled a 3-7 record, 6.61 ERA, and 43 strikeouts over 62.2 innings of work… allowed 46 earned runs, 86 hits, and 20 walks… tallied a career-high 6.2 innings against Western Carolina (Apr. 28), striking out five batters to tie his season-high mark… also fanned five in 4.0 innings on the hill at Samford (Mar. 24)… secured his first win of the year behind 4.1 innings and three punchies against Toledo (Feb. 17)… earned back-to-back wins at Georgia Southern (Feb. 26) and against Marist (Mar. 3)… turned in scoreless frame against UNC Asheville (May 9)… tossed 4.0 innings with four runs allowed and three punch-outs in a loss at Tennessee Tech (Mar. 17)… completed 6.0 innings against Winthrop (Mar. 11) and against Seton Hall (Mar. 31)… tallied 3.0 innings or more in 12 contests… struck out three or more batters 10 times.

2022 (Sophomore – ETSU): Smiddy worked 17 total appearances, including eight starts on the bump… ended the year with a 1-4 record, 5.48 ERA, 40 strikeouts, and two saves in 46.0 innings while holding batters to a .266 average… allowed 28 earned runs, 49 hits, and 21 walks… completed a season-high 6.0 innings with just one run allowed and eight punch-outs to earn the win over Tennessee Tech (Mar. 20)… fanned a career-high nine batters in his next outing, finishing 5.0 innings with four runs allowed against George Washington (Mar. 27)… secured his first save with 1.0 inning of scoreless relief at Winthrop (Mar. 5)… picked up his second save of the year following 3.2 innings with just one unearned run allowed against The Citadel (May 20) in the season finale… punched out four batters in 4.0 innings while allowing just two runs in a start at #6 Tennessee (Mar. 1)… despite it being a ruled a no-contest, threw 3.0 no-hit innings with five strikeouts at Virginia Tech before the game was called in the bottom of the fourth inning due to rain… fanned three or more batters in nine contests… covered 3.0 or more innings 10 times.

2021 (Freshman – ETSU*): Smiddy made 10 appearances out of the bullpen… finished the year with a 1-1 record, 10.05 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 14.1 innings on the hill… allowed 16 earned runs, 24 hits, and eight walks… earned his lone win on the year behind a season-high 3.0 innings out of the pen in the first game of a doubleheader against Northern Kentucky (Feb. 21)… struck out three batters in the game with just one hit allowed… fanned a season-high four batters in just 1.0 inning of relief, accomplishing the rare feat at Radford (Mar. 30)… completed 2.0 shutout innings against UNC Asheville (Feb. 27)… turned in 1.2 scoreless frames against Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 5)… also delivered clean sheets in 1.1 innings against Radford (Mar. 9) and against #13 Virginia Tech (Apr. 6)… struck out multiple batters three times.

2020 (Freshman – ETSU): Smiddy appeared in three games for ETSU, including one start before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic… concluded his rookie campaign with a 3.97 ERA, 11 strikeouts, and a save in 11.1 innings of work… allowed five earned runs, 14 hits, and just two walks… made his collegiate debut against Toledo (Feb. 16), tossing a season-high 4.1 innings with five strikeouts while allowing just one earned run… earned his first career start against Rider (Feb. 23), fanning three in 4.0 innings on the hill with four runs allowed… picked up his first career save against Marist (Mar. 8), finishing the final 3.0 innings of the game with just one hit and no runs allowed to go along with three punch-outs… tossed at least 3.0 innings in all three appearances… stuck out at least three batters in each outing.

High School: Smiddy was a three-year letterwinner for head coach Matt Buckner at Farragut High School in Knoxville, competing as a pitcher… earned 4AAA District Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 1.65 ERA with 75 strikeouts in 70 innings of work as a senior… earned a 2.19 ERA with 60 punchies in 44.2 innings on the hill as a junior… led Farragut to three district titles, two regions crowns, and one state championship.

Personal: Son of Stacey and Kevin Smiddy… born in Knoxville, Tenn. on July 10, 2001… full name is Landon Wyatt Smiddy… mother, Stacey, played volleyball at Crown College from 1996-98.

Academic: Majoring in exercise science and physical wellness with an emphasis in sports administration… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll once.
