COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's tennis team won a tough one Saturday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference play as they defended their home courts with a 4-3 win over Morehead State.
With its win over the Eagles, Tennessee Tech has extended its
winning streak to four, which is its longest streak of the season.
Tech (8-7, 5-1 OVC) wraps up its regular season schedule Sunday as
it hosts Eastern Kentucky at 1 p.m. EKU comes to town at the top of
the OVC standings, but Tech could climb into a tie with a win over
the Colonels.

The day started off a little rough for the Golden Eagles
against Morehead State as they dropped two of the three doubles
matches, which gave the visiting Eagles an early 1-0 lead.
TTU's lone victory in the doubles matches came off the
racquets of Lloyd Harris and Vasily
Eremeev, who downed MSU's Lovell Medcalf and Nathan Martin
8-5.
The Golden Eagles reasserted themselves in singles competition
as they took four of the six matches, all of which came in straight
sets.
Harris and Eremeev carried their doubles success into their
singles matches as Eremeev downed David Clifford 6-4, 6-1 in the
No. 3 singles match, while Harris toppled Roger White 6-3,
7-5.
Alex Chen
earned his fourth OVC singles victory of the season as he defeated
Justin Harlow in the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-3. Justin Kirstein
earned his fifth singles victory in conference play with a 6-2, 6-7
(7-4) win over Brady Bryan to clinch the match.
