Golden Eagles dominate Tigers in Nashville

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Tech ended its losing streak with a bang as it took down the Tennessee State Tigers 6-0 for its third Ohio Valley Conference victory of the season.

The Golden Eagles took both doubles matches to secure their first point of the day. Justin Kirstein and Josh Girling defeated Lawrence Washington and Shaun Ingram 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles match, while Lloyd Harris and Vasily Eremeev downed Skyler Dowdy and Gregory Ruffin 8-0 in the second doubles match.
 
Tech's dominance continued on into singles competition as it won all five of its singles matches in straight sets.
 
Eremeev won the No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-2, while Girling and Kirstein each won their matches by the scores of 6-0, 6-2.
 
Murilo deOliviera defeated Dowdy 6-1, 6-2, while James Crawford rounded off the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Matt Ingram.
 
Tech continues its road trip Saturday, as it takes on Murray State, at 10 a.m.
