PADUCHA, Ky. – Despite entering the day on the heels of an emotional 4-3 win against Murray State in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, the Tech tennis squad could not extend its season as the Austin Peay Governors took the semi-final dual by the score of 4-1.
APSU jumped out quickly as it won the first two doubles matches to secure the first point of the day, by the scores of 8-0 and 8-2.
James Crawford tallied Tech's lone point of the contest as he won the No. 5 singles match in three sets by the scores of 6-3, 5-7 and 6-2.
Austin Peay clinched the dual as it took three of the four singles matches played, two of which came in straight sets. Josh Girling fought Jasmin Ademovic into a third set, but Ademovic managed to secure the victory by the scores of 7-6 (11-9), 3-6, 6-2.
With the dual already decided, the singles matches with TTU's Alex Chen and Vasily Eremeev, and the doubles match featuring Girling and Justin Kirstein were not completed.
