HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Momentum is sure to be a key to the week for the Tennessee Tech men's golf team, as the Golden Eagles head to the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky. Monday morning.

Held at The Links at Novadell, a 7,132-yard, par-72 course, the event will need to watch out for the Golden Eagles who enter the tournament coming off an impressive fourth-place finish at the Bearcat Invitational last week.

The 54-hole tournament, hosted by Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay, is set for an 8 a.m. CDT shotgun start Monday morning. Both Round One and Round Two will commence on the first day of action, with Round Three to begin on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The 14-team field will be made up of 13 schools with the host Governors featuring both an 'A' squad and a 'B' squad. Including Tech, nine OVC teams will participate in the event. Austin Peay has the won the event each of the past two years and an OVC team has won it each of the past five years.

Here's an alphabetical look at the participating squads:

The Golden Eagles played outstanding last week at the Bearcat Invitational in Hebron, Ky. Tech led the tournament after the first round and held on against really good competition to finish fourth overall. Sophomore Mitch Thomas finished tied for second in the event, the highest finish for a Tech player since 2011, on his way to OVC Men's co-Golfer of the Week honors.

"The men are coming off a great finish last week," said head coach Polk Brown. "It was a great way to rebound from the week prior to that and I'm looking for them to keep the momentum going this week as we head to Austin Peay's event. Anytime we get to play with them, it's always going to help us. I think if the weather stays the way it's supposed to, there are going to be a lot of birdies out there to be made and we're going to need to shoot some low numbers to have a chance. And I think the guys are more than capable of doing that."

As has been the case in each of the first three events of the year, the top five for the Golden Eagles will look the same. Tech will also bring along an individual to compete this week:

  1. Lee Whitehead (Jr.)
  2. Mitch Thomas (So.)
  3. Bryce Kendrick (So.)
  4. Adam Cunningham (So.)
  5. Mason Griffin (R-Jr.)
  6. Maxx Verble (Jr.) - Competing as an individual
