COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It's a busy weekend ahead as Tennessee Tech hosts the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Budweiser.
The two-day, two-man scramble is a major fundraiser for Tech Athletics, but the tournament – held Saturday and Sunday at Golden Eagle Golf Club, White Plains and Ironwood isn't all of the fun this weekend.
The event starts up on Friday night as the annual Doc Fields' Concert will be held at Revolver Saloon on Jefferson Ave. Doors for that event open at 7 p.m.
The featured band for this year's concert is Girlz Girlz Girlz, an '80s-themed band who describes themselves as "the best party band, both in looks and performance … and rockingness." Their diverse set list covers many rockers from the glam and hair metal days of the 1980s, but also stretches into 1990s and 2000s alternative and rap.
After the first day of play, the celebration continues as the Cumberland Insurance Agency Barbecue is held at Golden Eagle Golf Club. In addition to dinner, the scheduled skill contests will begin at 6:30 p.m.
