Tucker Stadium closed for renovation projects

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – There's a lot of construction going on at the Tennessee Tech campus and, starting today, Tucker Stadium is no exception.

With scheduled repairs to the stadium track starting this week, as well as the installation of a new video board at the stadium, Tucker Stadium will be closed to the public until the completion of both projects.

The closing encompasses the entire facility – including the track surface and the stadium stairs and bleachers.

"We know that the facility is a popular attraction, especially as the spring season arrives and nice weather with it," said Tech director of athletics Mark Wilson, "but for the safety of our campus visitors, as well as to help expedite the process, this is a necessary step."

The track is being resurfaced as Tech will host the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May. As soon as the championships are completed, the installation of the video board and its components will begin, which will need to keep the stadium closed.
