Angel Mounds Invitational

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech cross country teams close out the regular-season portion of their 2023 schedules with a visit to Evansville, Ind. for the Angel Mounds Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13.
The women's 6K will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT with the men's 8K to follow at approximately 10:00 a.m. Admission for the meet is $5 and is cash only.
The field of competition for each race will feature several Division I programs from the Ohio Valley Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Atlantic Sun Conference, and Conference USA. It also features several NAIA programs and a junior college.
Tech enters the weekend after delivering a pair of top-10 performances at the Live in Lou Classic on Sept. 30 in Louisville. The women placed ninth while the men turned in a 10th-place showing.
For the third time this season, Helen Pacurariu-Nagy paced the purple and gold on the women's side, clocking in with a time of 18:22.7 to finish 15th among more than 380 competitors. Rookie Makaleigh Jessee placed second with a mark of 18:42.0 while Chloe Wade took third among the Golden Eagles, crossing the finish line at 19:22.6.
The Golden Eagle men were led behind a brilliant performance from junior Miceal McCaul, who earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 24:45.9, the third-fastest 8K of his career. Close behind for Tech was McNeese transfer James Hyland with a mark of 25:25.1 and junior Chase Faudi, crossing the finish line at the 25:41.7 mark.

Following this weekend's race, the Golden Eagles will compete next at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, hosted by Morehead State in Morehead, Ky. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
