Tech volleyball program honored with USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award for fourth straight year
July 21, 2022COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball program was honored as a recipient of the United State Marine Corps - American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the fourth straight year, as announced by the AVCA Monday afternoon. The Golden Eagles also claimed the accolade in 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21, meaning the team has achieved the honor in each of head coach Jeannette Phillips' seasons at the helm of the program. -
Haley DeSales joins Golden Eagle volleyball staff as assistant coach

Tennessee Tech adds beach volleyball for 2023 spring season
April 11, 2022COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson announced that the Golden Eagle Athletics Department will be adding the sport of beach volleyball with competition for the purple and gold set to begin in the spring of 2023. Beach volleyball will become the 15th intercollegiate sports team at Tennessee Tech.

Defense stays strong despite Morehead surge
October 27, 2021MOREHEAD, Ky. – It was a tremendous defensive battle for the Tennessee Tech volleyball team on Wednesday night as the Golden Eagles put up a program-record 22 total blocks, edging the previous mark of 21.5 set against Southeast Missouri on Oct. 12, 2001. The effort helped lead Tech to a win in the opening set, but Morehead State eked out the second and third stanzas before pulling away in the fourth and deciding set to give the host Eagles a 3-1 victory at Johnson Arena. The Golden Eagles (11-12, 6-6 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action this weekend with a visit to UT Martin. Friday’s match starts at 5 p.m., followed by an 11 a.m. matinee on Saturday.
