COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team dropped its final game of the Memphis Tiger Invitational to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday morning, falling in three sets: 23-25, 22-25, 15-25. In the process, the Golden Eagles take a 1-2 record on the weekend and move their overall season ledger to 6-5.

Senior Shealene Little led the Tech offense with 10 kills, her second-highest output of the season. She also put up the team's second-best attack percentage at .241.

Ali Verzani and Shaneice James were next in line with six kills apiece.  Verzani also recorded 10 digs for the match, giving her six matches with double-digit digs for the season, including the last four matches in a row. James posted the team's highest attack percentage, .250.

Susie Jeziorowski led Tech with 23 assists and added eight digs.

Abigail Duncan tallied 11 digs, giving her at least 10 for that category in three of the last four matches.

TTU struggled to contain a well-round ULM attack that featured three players with attack percentages of .400 or better. Monroe hit .241 as a team.

Kate Blasingame led the Warhawks with 13 kills and a .522 percentage while contributing nine digs and two assisted blocks. Three other players finished with at least seven kills.

ULM's Taylor Wood led all players with four assisted blocks, as the Warhawks held a 12-8 advantage in that category for the match.

This match was only the second time Tech has been beaten in straight sets this year. That had already happened five times to the 2017 squad at this point last season.

Tech will head out west next weekend for the Seattle U. Redhawk Invitational Sept. 14-15. The Golden Eagles will play their fourth straight Friday doubleheader of the season with matches against Seattle U. and Montana State, and finish up Saturday afternoon against Idaho State.
