COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team's long-standing tradition of crushing it in the classroom picked up even more steam, as the Golden Eagles bolstered an already overflowing academic trophy case with another yearly accolade.

For the 13th-consecuitve year, Tech soccer was honored with the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, an impressive distinction handed to the purple and gold after taking home a combined team grade point average of 3.535 for the 2020-21 school year. In order to be considered for the award, a team must have a composite team GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official roster forms for the fall season.

The Golden Eagles were one of four OVC schools to capture this year's honor, joining Austin Peay, Belmont and Southeast Missouri. Tech and Belmont are the only two schools in the conference to take home the accolade for at least five straight years.

23 Golden Eagle soccer student-athletes were named to the Fall 2020 Athletic Director's Honor Roll, while 21 were recognized on the Spring 21 AD's Honor Roll. 16 TTU soccer student-athletes were honored on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2020-21 academic year.
