TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech men's cross country team continues its postseason run on Friday at the NCAA South Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Alabama at the Harry Pritchett Running Park.
Each NCAA Regional serves as a qualifying meet for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships – the top two teams in each men's and women's race, along with the top four men's and women's individual finishers who are not members of those teams, will advance to the championship meet on Nov. 18 in Louisville, Kentucky.
The men's 10k will begin at 10 a.m. CT, following the women's 6k at 9 a.m. CT.
Sophomores Gilbert Boit and Brannon Cheplak are set to appear in the meet for the Tech men. Both raced in the 2016 South Regional in Tallahassee, Florida, helping the team to an 11th-place finish. Boit placed 11th in 30:45.1, just out of an automatic qualifying spot for NCAAs, while Cheplak was 67th in 32:24.2.
