NEW ORLEANS – Tennessee Tech's men's cross country team will open the season ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA South Region rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.
The USTFCCCA regional cross country rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results (if applicable) in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Mississippi State, one of the teams in this Saturday's Golden Eagle Invitational field, is ranked 15th on the men's side and second on the women's in the South Region.
