COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --  Sam Taylor has led the Tennessee Tech men's cross country team all season, and the junior from Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., should be in the same role Saturday morning when the Golden Eagles run in the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Championships.

The men's 8K race will get the day's action underway with a 9 a.m. start at Percy Warner Park. The women's 5K race is scheduled to follow at 10 a.m. The meets will be hosted by Tennessee State.

Coach Tony Cox has four seniors slated for the lineup Saturday, along with two juniors, one sophomore and one freshman.

Seniors scheduled to run are Joseph DeLorenzo, Jarrad Read, Ben Thompson and Peter Woerner. Ben Shassere and Taylor represent the junior class. The roster also includes sophomore Daniel Francis and fresman Chris Bishop.

A year ago the Golden Eagle men placed sixth at the OVC meet.
