COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will host its first official home game of the 2021-22 campaign Sunday afternoon, competing against visiting Oakwood University in a 4:00 p.m. CT tilt in the Hooper Eblen Center.

The Ambassadors will travel to Fairfield, Ala. for a Saturday evening contest at Miles College prior to their trip to Cookeville on Sunday. Oakwood owns a 3-3 record on the year, winning its last contest on Nov. 8 over Martin Methodist on a thrilling buzzer-beater, 67-66.

The Golden Eagles enter the match-up after falling in their season opener at No. 12 Memphis, 89-65. The Tigers ended the game on a 12-2 run, but the purple and gold showed signs of great things to come this season against a team boasting the No. 1 recruiting class for the second time in three years.

Cincinnati transfer Mamoudou Diarra paced the purple and gold in his debut with the Cookeville crew, scoring 11 points on 3-for-4 shooting in just under 17 minutes of action. The Bamako, Mali native hit 2-of-3 attempts from 3-point range and sunk all three of his free throw attempts.

Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference pick Jr. Clay just missed a double-double, producing nine points with a game-high eight assists. Both returning freshman Kenny White Jr. and newcomer Diante Wood each added eight points and four rebounds off the bench. Ten different Golden Eagles scored at least four points in the contest.
