Jugovic named adidas® OVC Player of the Week for first time

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's basketball senior guard Aleksa Jugovic claimed his first career adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors Monday after helping lead the Golden Eagles to three straight victories.

Jugovic helped Tennessee Tech to a perfect 3-0 week and the Emerald Coast Classic Championship as the Golden Eagles won at New Mexico and topped Omaha and Maryland-Eastern Shore in neutral site games in Niceville, Florida. The senior averaged 19.3 points, 3.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while hitting 57.6 percent (19-of-33) from the field, 68.8 percent (11-of-16) from 3-point range and 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

He opened the week by scoring a career-high 31 points in a 104-96 victory over New Mexico at The Pit. Jugovic hit a school record 7-of-7 3-pointers in the win (11-of-12 from the field) while also dishing out six assists and grabbing three rebounds. He followed that by scoring 17 points and dishing out three assists in an 86-85 victory over Omaha.

Jugovic closed the week by scoring 10 points and grabbing four rebounds in just 26 minutes in a 90-60 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore. Jugovic currently ranks seventh nationally in 3-point percentage (57.9%) and 15th in total 3-pointers made (22).
