COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Judging from the recent release of its
preseason all-OVC squad, College Sports Madness ios convinced there
is a host of talent scattered around the Tennessee Tech lineup. A
total of eleven Golden Eagles are included on the preseason all-OVC
teams, with eight on the defensive side and three on the
offense.
The website has tabbed Tennessee State's Ron Reed as the preseason
OVC Coach of the Year, while individual player honors went to
Jacksonville State runningback DeMarcus James as the Offensive
Player of the Year and UT Martin's Tony Bell as the Defensive
Player of the Year.
For coach Watson Brown's Golden Eagles, linebacker Tra'Darius Goff and safety Marty Jones each earned first-team defense honors. On the second-team defense are safety Austin Tallant, cornerback Demario Donnell, and return specialist Ladarius Vanlier. The third-team defense includes defensive end Midoho Okpokoruruk, linebacker Jay Rudwall and cornerback Bill Dillard. The third-team offensive group inclues lienman Jibrin Linge, receiver Krys Cates and placekicker Zach Sharp.

Busy day ahead on Saturday....be a part of the
action
The second annual Women's Clinic is set for this Saturday, with
some openings remaining but space is limited to the first 100 women
who register. The event is free. The group will begin with a tour
of Tech's football facilities, including the Athletic Performance
Center, followed by a session with head coach Watson Brown. Each
participant receives a specially designed tote bag. Toregister,

The Women's Clinic is part of Saturday'sGathering of Eagles, which
begins at 10 a.m. with a Kids Zone. At noon, fans are invited into
the stadium for a picnic lunch including hot dogs and Pepsi drinks.
At 1 p.m., the Golden Eagles will compete in their second scrimmage
of fall camp.
Following the scrimmage, fans will have the chance to meet all of
the Golden Eagle players and get autographs.
The entire Gathering of Eagles is free.

The Golden Eagles will host six home football games during the
2014 season, opening against Kentucky Christian on Thursday, Aug.
28. After that, Tech will welcome Murray State on Saturday, Oct. 4
(7 p.m.), Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Oct. 18 (7 p.m.), Eastern
Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 1 (1:30 p.m.), Southeast Missouri for
Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 8 (1:30 p.m.), and Chattanooga on
Saturday, Nov. 15 (1:30 p.m.).
