COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Through the first day of action in the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Budweiser, it's been a close chase, but the championship flight will come down to a fight to a finish on Sunday.

The duo of Tyler Cassetty and Peyton Broyles leads the two-day event with a 15-under, while Ryan Allison and Brandon Ward are a stroke back at 14-under, and the twosomes of Tyler Greene/Tre Lamb and Austin York/Sam Cass are both at 13-under.

Polk Brown/David McCulloch (-11), Gary Maxwell/Lee Maxwell (-10) and Harry McGugin/Shane McCloud (-10) complete the championship flight and are still well within reach.

The championship flight will play Sunday's final round at White Plains Golf Course.

Dewayne Galey/Chad Davis and Reece Jones/Gareth Moody lead the 1st flight at 9-under. The 1st flight will play Sunday at Golden Eagle Golf Club.

Seven teams are at 4-under and eight are at 3-under in the 2nd flight, which will play Sunday at White Plains.

Golden Eagle Golf Club will host the third, fifth and seventh flights on Sunday, while White Plains will host the fourth and sixth flights.

Also on Saturday, the event held its skills contests. At Golden Eagle Golf Club, Luke Caldwell won the closest-to-the-hole on No. 3 at nine inches, Charles Cole won on No. 5 at five feet, nine inches, Scott Copeland won on No. 10 at eight feet, six inches, Stan Davis won on No. 12 at two feet, three-and-a-half inches, while Andrew Van Stratum won on No. 16 at seven feet, eight inches. Randell Henley won the men's longest drive at the Club, while David Barrett won the senior/super senior/youth longest drive.

At White Plains, McCulloch won the closest-to-the-hole on No. 6 at 11 feet, three inches, Paul Adams won on No. 11 at 10 feet, three inches, Paul Ballard won on No. 12 at seven feet, 10 inches, Mark Frasier won on No. 14 at 11 feet, four inches, while McCulloch won on No. 16 at six feet, five inches. Austin York won the men's longest drive, while Charles Howard won the senior/super senior/youth longest drive.

At the Cumberland Insurance Agency barbecue dinner, Michael Bowen and J.B. Rittenberry won the Par 3 contest, Matt Wheeler won the Cumberland Insurance $500 Putting Contest, Eddie Kelly won the Middle Tennessee Surgical Specialists $500 Chipping Contest, Blake Taylor won the Cumberland Insurance $1,000 Shootout, Pat Bagley won the Scavenger Hunt prize package from Cookeville Communications, while Dewayne Alexander won the right to compete for the Cumberland Auto Million Dollar Shot.
