COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech student-athletes continued their impressive trend of success in the classroom in the Fall 2017 semester, boasting 223 members of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
"The ability of our student-athletes to achieve such a high level of success for so many semesters continues to be a remarkable feat," said TTU Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. "The Honor Roll recognizes these young women and men, and helps us to congratulate them on a job well done."
Also, for the 13th time in the last 16 semesters, the number of Tennessee Tech's students in athletics who achieved recognition by earning a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll surpassed 200. The fall semester's 223 names ranks second in the history of the honor roll to just the fall semester of 2013, which boasted an incredible 236 names.
Recognizing those students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, the Gold Club featured 46 members for the Fall 2017 semester.
"These impressive numbers are a tribute to our student-athletes, our coaches and our staff for making academics such a high priority," Wilson said. "Not only are these results something to be proud of, it's especially gratifying that it happens on such a consistent basis. It is remarkable, but it has become a level of performance that we have come to expect. Our student-athletes also have come to expect such an impressive result from themselves and their peers."
"That level of success has become an enduring legacy that each incoming class can strive to attain, and our Athletics Department will continue to work to achieve."
The 46 who scored perfect grades to be listed in the Gold Club for the semester are highlighted below in bold italics under their respective programs.
"Everyone throughout the campus community, especially those of us within the Athletics Department, should be extremely proud of the student-athletes at Tennessee Tech as they continue to set high standards in the classroom," Wilson said. "They are students in the truest sense of the word."
