COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—Two-time OVC Pitcher of the Year, 2006 OVC Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year, three-time All-OVC first team honoree, nine-time OVC Pitcher of the Week, and four-year starter and letterwinner on the Golden Eagle team, former Tech softball pitcher who shattered records in the OVC has been added to the TTU Softball Wall of honor this weekend: current Tech softball head coach Bonnie Bynum. 

Bynum is the most successful pitcher in Ohio Valley Conference history. She currently holds every OVC pitching record except one (which is held by another former Tech pitcher), and was twice named as Tech's Outstanding Female Athlete. A two-time OVC Pitcher of the Year in 2006 and 2007, she was a three-time Golden Eagles Pitcher of the Year and two-time Golden Eagle Most Valuable Pitcher. She also won three consecutive OVC Tournament MVP honors. Bynum posted a school and OVC-record 103 career victories including 34 wins as a senior in 2007. 

She appeared in 193 games, throwing 1,021 strikeouts and six no-hitters. She finished the '07 season ranked seventh nationally in victories. During her senior year, she posted a 1.50 earned run average, throwing 33 complete games and 11 shutouts while pitching over 300 innings. 

The Fayetteville, Ga. native returned in May 2012 to her alma mater as assistant coach after five seasons on the Western Kentucky University softball coaching staff and has now stood at the helm of the Golden Eagle program since 2013. Under her fourth season as head coach Bynum has directed the Tech team to an 80-90 overall record with a 41-34-conference mark, including a 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Championship and the school's first NCCA appearance since her own senior season in 2007. 

Bynum was enshrined on Tech's softball Wall of Honor before Saturday's Tech Softball Tournament.
