Nineteen student-athletes earn degrees at 2018 Fall Commencement

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Many students walk through the halls of Tennessee Tech over the course of their careers, and just like the student-athletes who wear the Purple and Gold representing the Golden Eagles on the playing fields, graduation is a special day.

For 19 student-athletes on Saturday during the university's Fall Commencement ceremony at the Hooper Eblen Center, it certainly was that.

The following earned their degrees on Saturday:

CHEERLEADING AND DANCE: Kelly Bolton (Psychology), Johnise Jones (Exercise Science and Physical Wellness) and Katie Porter (Master's in Curriculum and Instruction).

FOOTBALL: Riley Darden (Exercise Science and Physical Wellness, cum laude -- 3.5 to 3.69 GPA), Cooper Jackson (Agriculture), Chris McElderry (Exercise Science and Physical Wellness), Chandler Nelson (Exercise Science and Physical Wellness), Taron Ryce (Marketing), Deven Sullivan (Interdisciplinary Studies) and Luke Ward (Interdisciplinary Studies).

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Mason Ramsey (Master's in Business Administration)

SOFTBALL: Jessie Lowery (Business Management).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Treyvonna Brooks (Master's in Professional Studies), Kandace Newry (Master's in Professional Studies)

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Mayra Tarraga Manzanal (Exercise Science and Physical Wellness, cum laude -- 3.5 to 3.69 GPA).

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Sharon Anderson (Master's in Business Administration), Suzie Jeziorowski (Computer Science, W.A. Howard Award -- 4.0 GPA at graduation, summa cum laude -- 3.9 to 4.0 GPA), K'Vonna Johnson (Interdisciplinary Studies) and Allison Morrett (Human Ecology).
